Creating an overall environment is one of the most challenging and rewarding areas of game development. Balancing skies, time of day, lighting, and the many textures on the landscape, flora, structures, liquids … guiding the whole mass to a consistent, cohesive, attractive whole strains technical, organizational, and visual expertise to the limit.
